Come on into Colin Cooke’s studio… the water is warm and you can stay as long as you’d like. Even a whole month! That is what the team from Bulletproof did as they collaborated with Colin on 96, yes you heard correctly, 96 images for Kraft’s new salad dressing packaging.
The goal for this shoot was to marry each of the flavored dressings with their own colored background and matching ingredients, such as mouthwatering vegetables, delectable oils and savory herbs. The easy part was having a great crew to keep each day running smoothly, including master food stylist Michaela Hayes who was slicing, dicing, halving and quartering all of the ingredients to create the set-ups.
The challenge was making sure each of these set-ups was unique to the flavor they were representing. For this to happen, Colin worked hand in hand with Michaela and Creative Director Tetsuya to tweak and re-tweak all of the combinations within the one sq. foot area they had available to work with. “This project took patience and concentration,” says Colin, but at the end of the project the team had 96 distinct set ups to represent Kraft’s delicious salad dressing.
