The Dodge RAM 1500 is one of the most loyal and popular American half-ton pickup trucks on the road today. Recently, our intrepid director/photographer Markus Esser has been directing and presenting automotive stories with a blue-collar theme.
Featuring the RAM 1500 was a perfect fit into his ongoing series. While in LA attending some agency meetings, he took the opportunity to expand the project by capturing blue-collar workers and how they relate to their trucks for daily needs.
Not wasting any time, Markus got in touch with his producer, hired a production assistant and scouted several LA locations. It took three days, but he found the ideal location in an LA Harbor setting. The built-to-haul RAM 1500 along with a cast of strong, beefcake characters who look tough on the outside but were accessible for the shoot came together for a macho take on the Americana workplace.
Gritty and industrial, the rugged RAM 1500 is the favorite multi-purpose vehicle — strong, reliable and even a great place for a simple outdoor lunch break on the truck’s flatbed. Once back home, Markus worked with Zerone Postproduction Berlin on the looks he wanted for final composites.
As Markus likes to put it, strong on the outside but inviting on the inside makes for solid performances and powerful storytelling. The RAM 1500 series will appear as a print piece and for internet and instagram promotions.
