Chocolate lovers of the world and beyond rejoice. DOVE Chocolate is spreading its wings with the promise of more richness to life and all with the help and vision of award-winning BOOM CGI.
BOOM had the delicious honor of helping DOVE Chocolate celebrate and present several bold new flavors—one for each and every day. Working with client Integer Denver and the team of Producer Danielle Gruden, Assoc. Creative Director John Stadler, Creative Directors Chris Newkirk and Bradley Hilton, BOOM artists visually enhanced on the concept: “What if we celebrated bold, audacious, pleasure seeking DOVE women of today… for whom our bold audacious pleasure-fulfilling chocolates are made.”
The main approach for BOOM was getting the chocolate to look as realistic as possible. Bright details and appetizing colors and textures for the various flavors were created with an eye towards attracting a wider audience and tastes.
The process started with modeling up the chocolate chunks and sculpting up the edges to look like broken pieces of chocolate. BOOM was fortunate enough to have all the chocolate bars in studio so they could match the art to the look and feel of the bars—the unfortunate part was not being able to eat them.
DOVE was very specific about the placement of the chocolate chunks. They wanted the pieces to be exciting and exploding with flavor but not to appear as though they were crumbling. Working closely with Integer Denver, BOOM created a look built around the right balance and precise size for the chunks, achieving the dynamic effect DOVE wanted in the final images.
