Photographer/director Jim Purdum has the expertise and confidence to be flexible on an ever-evolving TV-shoot schedule. Always a step ahead, he gets the concepts, takes initiative and runs with it for spontaneous and authentic moments. Shooting alongside a TV motion crew as they were filming in Los Angeles over a two-day period, Jim shot the still campaign “Timeless” with agency Digitas LBi for client Pittsburgh Paint Group (PPG) to showcase a broad product line of quality paint colors.
Careful prep and coordination with key players, knowing the commercial TV director’s style and reassessing when and how to get the shots are key elements to Jim’s method for success on a TV-production shoot. In a 15-minute window in a few images, he seamlessly captured a complete story with an emotional tug. P
It was such a great experience working with Jim on the PPG shoot. From my first phone call with Jim, he immediately understood the concept and what I was trying to achieve. Not only was Jim striving to get the best shot, but he was always making sure that our subjects felt authentic. I can’t wait to find another project where I can work with him again.” — VP/Creative Director Amy Stanec, Digitas LBi. "
PG loved the way Jim connected to their concept of color inspiration, branding the product in every shot. In vibrant scenes our muralist is proud of his tools, his craft and loves the chance to show us his unique take on rich, eye-popping colors in a classic art form. We recognize the moment and it’s timeless.
