Award-winning international photographer/director Claudio Napolitano is a master at capturing characters who evoke time and place in their faces. Working for SONY Pictures, The Heladeria Agency (Miami- and Mexico-based) and Rabbit House Productions (Mexico-based), Claudio photographed the main characters and supporting cast from the popular Mexican TV series Maria Magdalena.

On location in Bogotá, Colombia, with the artistic collaboration of Creative/Art Directors Tana and Diana Campagna, Claudio blended 12 different shoots to create an image of Maria Magdalena—one of Jesus’s most celebrated disciples. With his consummate expertise in focus and lighting, mixing tungsten and strobes to produce a warm look and feel, Claudio brings vision and a natural atmosphere to that biblical time.

Darkness is handled from the inside out, resulting in an image of great inner strength and empowerment—a woman ahead of her time. The imagery is so compelling it has recently won Honorable Mention in Advertising in the 14th Annual Black & White Spider Awards. The Maria Magdalena campaign is appearing now in broadcast, video, internet and print promotion for Sony Pictures.
